This Honolulu city girl is experiencing a whole new kind of "island life" in Japan. I live on Suo-Oshima, a rural little island full of mikan oranges, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, beautiful sunsets over the water, crabs crossing the streets, and no video rental stores. It's great.

Hiroshima Flower Festival

We went to Hiroshima on May 3rd, the first day of the Flower Festival.
Aaron, Tammy and Kim
There were a ton of school dance groups all dressed up to perform (even some hula dancers!)
We donated a small amount of money for the peace efforts and wrote messages to wrap around candles (to be lit up that night)
